Thecus, a company that specializes in network attached storage (NAS) products, has today launched the world’s first NAS to support either 2.5in and 3.5in hard drives in the form of the N0503 ComboNAS. The new Thecus NAS will provide users with a more flexible design, enabling them to choose the form factor they want to adopt when upgrading their storage solution. The solution can accommodate 3 hard drives of 3.5-inch form factor.
Beside that, N0503 also can accommodate 5 hard drives of 2.5-inch form factor. The Thecus N0503 ComboNAS, however, is powered by an Atom CPU and boasts 1GB of DDR2 memory, has support for up to five 2.5-inch or three 3.5-inch HDDs, provides RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 configurations, and includes one eSATA, two Gigabit Ethernet, and three USB ports. It support for a number of functions and can be connected with any computer system that runs on a choice of Windows, Linux or Mac OS 9/X operating systems.
