Gateway Intros The ION-based QX2800 Nettop

As you all know that the Gateway has renamed the Acer’s AspireRevo nettop to QX2800, after a few hardware tweaks. the new nettop comes with a dual-core 1.6 GHz Atom 330 processor (single-core Atom 230 on the AspireRevo), 2GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, and GeForce 9400M integrated graphics. So the main differences involve the Gateway’s dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU rather than Acer’s single-core Atom. Also, Gateway opted to use a larger capacity 500GB hard drive, doubling the Acer’s 250GB drive.

As Gateway is under the Acer umbrella, focusing on the US market, the rebranded PC is not a surprise to those in the industry, and other components are common. This includes the NVIDIA Ion platform’s relatively fast graphics, Wi-Fi capability, an HDMI output, six USB 2.0 ports and a 4-in-1 card reader. The QX2800 will ship with Windows Vista Home Premium.
