AT&T 3G MicroCell is expected to be made available next week in select markets which include Atlanta, San Antonio, Seattle and North Carolina. However, the device may be unveiled in more cities if the company plans to launch it on a larger scale. AT&T 3G MicroCell is a Cisco-made device that like most other femtocells, creates a short-range cellular link that then uses the owner’s home internet connection to send both calls and data.

Novatel Wireless and MobileOne, launched the MiFi 2352 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot, making MobileOne the first Asian operator to offer a MiFi device. The MiFi 2352 supports triband HSPA (900/1900/2100Mhz) and quadband GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900Mhz). According to the latest news on the web, Sprint is set to come to the market with 3G femtocells before any other carrier in the country does so. Sprint on the other hand is saying that its model will be the first 3G femtocell in the USA.

Recently, AT&T announced that its 3G femtocells would soon enter into a public testing program, and that they would be released commercially before the end of the ongoing year, yet Sprint seems determined to make the move sooner.
