Maingear eX-L 18: The World’s Most Powerful Gaming Laptop Currently Available?

Maingear, a company that specializes in providing its customers with custom-built computer systems, has just announced the introduction of its new eX-L 18 notebook PC, claiming it to be the world’s most powerful gaming notebook. This notebook seems more powerful than Asus G51 and G60, also Xplorer X7-Xtreme S1 notebook. Why not? With its top-of-the-line specifications, Maingear believes the eX-L 18 laptop will continue to remain the most powerful one around for a good while.

To be detail, the notebook has two 1GB GeForce GTX280M GPUs at its core, giving the system massive graphics processing power. On the CPU side, users have a choice between the Intel Core 2 Duo P8700, the Core 2 Duo T9600, and the Core 2 Duo Extreme X9300. While the first and last processors are clocked at 2.53GHz, the second runs at 2.8GHz.

The default specification of course carries the latest Extreme X9300 processor. Other options available to enthusiasts include a choice between three 2.5in SATA or SSD drives for up to 1.5TB of storage capacity and an optional Blu-ray drive. Among standard specifications are included four USB 2.0 ports, VGA out, HDMI out, FireWire, and Intel’s WiFi Link 5300 a/b/g/Draft-N. Memory can be pumped out to 8GB of DDR3.

Maingear will also be offering optional integrated HD TV (ATSC) tuner, and yet another choice between 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. A free upgrade to Windows 7 will also be provided. For customisation lovers, Maingear would be happy to offer the services its laser etching technology to engrave a logo or image onto the sleek laptop.

Equipped with an 18.4-inch LCD screen, capable of outputting images at a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, the Maingear eX-L 18 comes with a price of $2,999 for the base version and $5,980 for the top-of-the-line model.
