AMD plans to launch its new processor based on the Deneb core named as Phenom II X4 965, which will works at 3.40 GHz with 200MHz of FSB and 17.0x of multiplier. In comparison with 955 Black Edition, it gets 200MHz increase. You know, this is the standard for all of the latest CPU’s from manufacturer AMD.

We already have the ability to purchase the newest AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz Black Edition chips, so next in line would be the logical 3.4GHz chip. This is being branded as the Phenom II X4 965.

Motherboard manufacturer ASRock already list the processor in it’s supported list of CPU’s. It confirms for us that it is indeed the Black Edition HDZ965FBK4DGI (BE) and will come with:

  • 2MB L2 Cache
  • 6MB L3 Cache
  • 45nm fabrication process

Whether 965 is black edition or not still confuses us. Its price is unknown. If launched as a Black Edition, it could be priced above the 955 and replace 955 with price tag of $249.99. Without the BE branding it could be priced slightly lower.
